Inspired by one of Brazil's most influential architects, Lina Bo Bardi - A Marvellous Entanglement is a meditation on the ideas and legacy of the visionary modernist (1914-1992), traversing a collection of her buildings and drawing its title from an evocative passage in one of the architect and designer's letters: 'Linear time is a western invention; time is not linear, it is a marvellous entanglement, where at any moment points can be chosen and solutions invented without beginning or end.' Having filmed on location in São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP); SESC Pompéia and in the Teatro Oficina, but also in Salvador's Museum of Modern Art, Bahia; Coaty Restaurant and Gergório de Matos theatre, Isaac Julien proposes an open-ended reflection on Lina Bo Bardi's approach to architecture and Brazilian culture.
